The base of the mountains seems to disappear into the surface of the lake, as its peaks extend high into the powder blue sky. The light and fluffy snow that had fallen a few days ago is still strewn across the jagged face of the towering rocks. A picture-perfect reflection is muffled by a calm fluttering breeze rippling across the surface of the water. As I visually take in the beautiful alpine landscape I’m left breathless at the mesmerizing colors that appear before me. Shades of vibrant and faded greens give way to vivid and endless blue skies that slowly trickle by overhead. The lake hued in its dark emerald tints makes its way from the footplates to the mountains off in the distance, almost as if everything in the vicinity exists for the sole purpose of accompanying the frigid waters.
